With the aim of promoting healthier, longer and better lives, AIA- no.1 life insurance in the world in terms of Market Capitalization - is organizing the free training of 240 children aged 7 to 14.
[Yangon, Myanmar, 23 February 2020]- 3 Spurs coaches, 240 children had a great day during AIA GOAL! – a free football training camp organized by AIA for the 2nd time in Yangon. Following the first successful AIA KICK! in September 2019, once more time, AIA brought coaches from Tottenham Hotspur, a powerhouse club in the English Premier League and in world football to Yangon and gave children another wonderful experience.
The program, lasting an entire fun filled day, focuses on young footballers aged 7 to 14. These children were be able to harness their skills under the guidance of Tottenham’s high caliber international coaches, Mr. Anton Blackwood, Ms. Shannon Moloney and Mr. Shaun Harris, with support being given by coaches from Yangon United Football Club.

We seek to help the youth fulfill their aspirations in a happy and safe environment with world-class supervision. Our coaches, Ms. Moloney and Mr. Harris, come devoted and ready to help unlock Myanmar’s next superstar footballers.”
Mr. Anton Blackwood is a former player for Tottenham Hotspur and holds a UEFA ‘B’ coaching license, in addition to an MSc in Strength and Conditioning. He serves as an international development manager as part of the groundbreaking Global Football Development Programme, which has been active in 13 countries across Southeast Asia and Oceania, helping fulfill AIA’s promise of helping people lead healthier, longer, better lives.
“It’s fantastic to be back in Myanmar as part of AIA GOAL!,” says Mr. Blackwood. “To get the chance to help an enthusiastic group of children in bringing the best out of their skills is always fantastic and is an absolute blessing. Myanmar’s youth have a lot of potential to succeed, and it’s thrilling to be part of this effort in helping them reach to their fullest potentials.”
Mr. Harris, the senior international development coach, has a UEFA B License, and further holds a sports science professional football coaching degree. Having worked at Spurs since October 2011, Mr. Harris has worked across primary schools, community projects, equality and inclusion programs. He had served as Head Coach for Spur’s ladies U20 squad and Sports Lecturer at Tottenham Hotspur’s Elite football and development centres.
Ms. Moloney, the international development coach, played for Tottenham Hotspur Ladies from 2013 to 2019, and is a FA qualified coach, along with holding a Level 3 certification as a personal trainer. Away from sports, Ms. Moloney is an educator, having taught A-level Law and Sport.
Beyond the training sessions, AIA GOAL! also featured onsite health and wellness checkups where participating children and their families visited for free consultations. Based on their age, height and weight, health experts dispensed informative counsel for the children in terms of dietary and lifestyle advice to better equip families to improve their health outlook.
Organized by AIA, no.1 life insurance in the world in terms of Market Capitalization, this exciting, action packed event aims on promoting longer, healthier and better lives among Myanmar children and AIA will expand its training session to other cities within 2020. AIA GOAL! was supported by well known brands such as Alpine Purified drinking water as hydration partner, Milo from Nestle as nutrition partner and Hello Sayarwon as Health Check sponsor.
AIA Myanmar has been selling policies since November 2019, after receiving the foreign life insurance license for 100% wholly-owned subsidiary to operate in Myanmar and it aims to support communities across the country and this will be reflected in other unique future activities. It has already held community engagements in Myanmar in the past few months. It organized the AIA KICK! Football training activity for children in Yangon together with coaches from English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur. AIA also is also arranging a trip to London where the lucky customer could have a chance to meet the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung Min, along with coach Jose Mourinho.
